Baltistan: Army major blamed for death of three children in Skardu road accident on Eid
Skardu: An army major has been accused of crushing three children to death in in the outskirts of Skardu district of Baltistan division on the day of Eid on Saturday.
According to locals, the vehicle hit six children as it went out of control.
Three children were killed while three others survived in the accident.
The incident sparked anger in the area, with some local blaming an alleged army major for the death of the three children.
Local administration said no army officer was involved in the incident.
A video showed an army officer ,accompanied by his subordinates, assuring locals that the man behind the accident would be brought to book.
He said strict action would be taken if any army officer is found involved.
A local lawyer said the suspect is in police study but no FIR has been registered so far.
He said that Commander 323 Brigade of the army has vowed to take action under military laws if the role of the army officer is proven in the incident.
