Former DG ISI Lt. Gen Faiz Hameed put under house arrest?

Islamabad: Rumors are swirling that former ISI chief Lt General Faiz Hameed has been put under house arrest.

The rumors started after journalist Asad Ali Toor claimed on his YouTube channel that the former ISI honcho would be arrested for his alleged wrongdoings during his stint as the head of the country’s principal intelligence agency.

Hours after the YouTube video was launched, several PML-N supporters claimed that Hameed has been put under house arrest.

Sources in the military declined to confirm the rumors.

Faiz Hameed met his close friends only a few days ago and pictures of the meeting didn’t show any sign of trouble on the former spymaster’s face.

It was not the first time Asad Toor made a claim about action against Faiz Hameed.

He had reported last year that departmental inquiry was started against the general when he was commander of the Peshawar Corps. Toor then claimed that Hameed was charge-sheeted over his illegal activities.

The YouTuber’s report was rejected by the ISPR and later Faiz Hameed was appointed the Commander of Bahawalpur Corps.
