Do you know Lizz Truss, new UK Prime Minister, supported abolition of monarchy?

London: Liz Truss, born Mary Elizabeth Truss, became the British Prime Minister on Tuesday. The royal family said Queen Elizabeth received Liz Truss at Balmoral Castle on September 6th.

Releasing a picture of the two, a statement issued by the royal family said, “Her Majesty asked her (Liz Truss) to form a new Administration. Ms. Truss accepted Her Majesty’s offer and was appointed Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Lizz Truss, 47, supported the legalisation of cannabis and the abolition of the monarchy and campaigned against the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 during her time as a Liberal Democrat.

Truss joined the Conservative Party in 1996.
