HBL hacked or not? Habib Bank avoids issuing statement

Karachi: WhatsApp groups and social media websites in Pakistan are inundated with rumors that the system of the Habib Bank Private Limited (HBL) got hacked.

Several customers complained that they lost money from their accounts, claims that couldn’t be independently confirmed.

Dozens of users asked HBL to confirm or deny whether a cyber attack had taken place but the bank has yet to make any statement on the speculations doing the rounds.
