Kia Stinger GT price and arrival in Pakistan

KARACHI: Kia Stinger GT is one particular brand of the South Korean automobile manufacturer that seems to have piqued the interest of Pakistan’s car enthusiasts.

While the company intends to produce all sorts of cars in Pakistan, the Pakistani seems to be obsessed with the price which they will have to pay to get their hands on the car.

Ever since the reports of Kia’s arrival surfaced on local media, people with interest in the cars have been wondering about the price of Kia Stinger GT.

Kia Motors, South Korea’s second-largest automobile manufacture has joined hands with Pakistan’s Yunus Brothers Group (YBG) to make its entry in the country of over 200 million people.

A joint venture between Pakistan’s Lucky Group and Kia Motors is all set to manufacture, assemble, market and distribute all kinds of Kia cars, parts, accessories with Rs20 billion in investment.

The joint venture plans to start production in the first quarter of financial year 2019-20 and commercial production is likely to start by September this year.

Data released earlier this year show that import of cars surged last year mainly due to low interest rates, increase in auto financing by banks and purchase of for ride hailing services like Careem and Uber.

Although the situation has changed a lot as far as dollars value and increased policy rate in Pakistan is concerned, car enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Kia Motors in the country.

While it would be premature to make any speculation about the exact price of a certain model, we can tell the readers that Kia Stinger GT is likely to be priced at over Rs5 million rupees if the dollars value refuses to go down in the coming months.

With dollars trading around Rs140, the Kia Stinger GT model would probably be priced at Rs5.6 million.

According to reports, Kia will also  launch automatic 1,000cc hatchback Picanto and Sportage in Pakistan this year.
