Absa Komal’s father passes away

Islamabad: TV anchor Absa Komal on Thursday said her father passed away on Wednesday, requesting her fans to pray for the departed soul.

“May father passed away yesterday. Please remember him in your prayers,” she wrote on Twitter.

Hundreds of people expressed condolences to former Geo anchor who is famous for her uncanny resemblance to Katrina Kaif.

Absa Komal hosted Geo’s Report Card talkshow for several years before she left Pakistan’s leading TV channel after being offered a job at Voice America (Urdu service). Shortly after she arrived in America, Absa Komal’s appointment was postponed by VoA after it started an inquiry against some Pakistani origin journalists for running a controversial story during Donald Trump’s tenure as US president.

Absa has now returned to Pakistan and is currently hosting a podcast.
