Adil Al-Kalbani: Former Imam of Ka’aba becomes actor, wonders if he can go to Hollywood

Former Imam-e-Kaaba Adil Al-Kalbani surprised millions of people by starting in promotional film in Saudi Arabia.

“Do you think I can go to Hollywood,” he asked when Turki Al-Sheikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s Entertainment Authority shared a clip from the film which also features some football stars.

The video starring the famous cleric aims to promote Saudi Arabia’s “Field Combat”.

Sheikh Adil bin Salem bin Saeed Al-Kalbani’s appearance in the ad took the internet by storm, with some people expressing shock as to how a man who held the position of the Imam in one of Islam’s holiest places in Makkah can act in a “film”.

Others posted funny comments on the cleric’s acting debut.
