Kathy Zhu kicked out of Miss World America pageant for anti-Muslim remarks

Kathy Zhu, the 2o-year-old former beauty queen, lost her title of Miss Michigan which she had recently won and was kicked out of Miss World America pageant for offensive social media post.

She was seen on her Instagram wearing a “Make America Great” hat and a Trump T-shirt.

The organizers accused her of having offensive, insensitive and inappropriate content on her social media.

Zhu took to Twitter and shared the emails which she received from the organizers.

““This is about an organization discriminating against people with different opinions, calling people racist even when they’re not,” Zhu said on Twitter.

Apart from her Instagram post, two now-deleted tweets from Kath Zhu also became the reason which the organizers found offensive.

According to local media, she had tweeted about a Muslim Student Association booth celebrating World Hijab Day that asked her to try on the head covering. But she refused.

“So you’re telling me that it’s now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing?” Zhu tweeted at the time. “Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?”

In another example she tweeted “In the second instance, she tweeted, “Did you know the majority of black deaths are caused by other blacks? Fix problems within your own community before blaming others.”
