Reporter Maira Hashmi explains why she slapped boy in front of camera

Lahore: A reporter is going viral after she was seen slapping a young boy in front of camera.

Thousands of people on Monday circulated a video in which the reporter for Lahore Rang slapped the unidentified teenager while she was reporting live.

The reporter identified as Maira Hashmi issued a explanation after some people criticised her for her act.

In a Twitter statement, she said the boy was harassing a family. “I first reasoned with him to stop him but he continued to annoy the family,” she said.

Maira Hashmi said it didn’t seem appropriate for her to tolerate this behavior anymore.
