Shah Rukh Khan’s tweet praising Modi raises eyebrows after ‘Jawan’ release

Shah Rukh Khan on Sunday raised many eyebrows after he hailed Indian Prime Minister for successfully hosting the G20 Summit in India.

Over five million people saw Khan’s tweet when he praised the rightwing premier.

He wrote, “Congratulations to Hon. PM Narendra Modi ji for the success of India’s G20 Presidency and for fostering unity between nations for a better future for the people of the world.
It has brought in a sense of honour and pride into the hearts of every Indian. Sir, under your leadership, we will prosper not in isolation but in Oneness. One Earth, One Family, One Future.”

The actor’s tweets came as a surprise to many people who thought Khan’s latest movie “Jawan” contains a cryptic message for Modi and extremist elements in the society.

Hundreds of Modi supporters mocked liberal activists after Shah Rukh Khan’s tweet.

A large number of people expressed disappointment at Khan for having such a high opinion of the India prime minister whose critics accused him of dividing the nation.
