Shelly Miscavige whereabouts discussed after Danny Masterson gets 30 years in prison
“That ’70s Show” actor Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for raping two women who on Thursday said that the Church of Scientology sought to protect the actor and intimidate them into silence.
The 47-year-old actor and prominent Scientologist, who starred in the retro TV comedy for eight seasons until 2006, was convicted in May in a second trial. A jury deadlocked on a charge that he raped a third woman.
Hundreds of people questioned what they called government’s reluctance to launch a crackdown again the Church of Scientology.
The disappearance of Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader David Cavige, and actor Leah Remini’s lawsuit against the Church also came under discussion after Masterson was punished by the judge.
In August, Leah Remini, a former Scientologist, raised her voice for journalist Yashar Ali who she said was targeted by Scientology’s intelligent department for writing about the cult.
A look at Ali’s Instagram shows Hilaria Baldwin, the wife of actor Alec Baldwin, is also one of the staunch opponents of Scientology.
Yashar Ali also reported on Leah’s efforts to find the whereabouts of Shelly Miscavige, who went missing in 2007.
Hollywood star Tom Cruise’s links to the church were also discussed after Danny Masterson was sentenced.
According to multiple reports, Tom has distanced himself from Scientology lately.
