Why Indian websites writing about Shoaib Akhtar and Sonali Bendre ‘affair’?

While former speed star’s video is going viral for lambasting the Pakistan team for its poor performance and decisions taken by the skipper and team management, some Indian websites have left readers bewildered with their latest reports about former Pakistan fast bowler.

The stories seemed out of place since they were not about cricket. The Indian websites were discussing Shoaib Akhtar’s fondness for Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre.

The Indian website stories were referring to alleged interviews Shoaib Akhtar where he had reportedly expressed their fondness for each other.

One website went on to write that Shoaib Akhtar once claimed he used to keep a photo of Sonali Bendre in his pocket and wanted to marry her if she was willing to.

They also claimed that the Pakistani cricketer was so obsessed with the Indian diva that once he jokingly said he would kidnap the actress.

It was not immediately clear what led Indian media to post such stories.

Sonali Bendre recently returned from the United States after being treated for cancer.
