Anchors, TV stars voice support for Maulana Tariq Jameel

Senior journalists and TV and film stars are voicing support for Mualana Tariq Jameel after the cleric was forced to apologize for his remarks against the media.

TV anchor Kamran Khan, while taking to Twitter, said he seeks Maulana’s forgiveness for the pain he has to go through due to aggressive media.

Khan also tendered an apology on behalf of senior journalists Mehr Abbasi, Jasmin Manzoor and Ansar Abbasi who he said also stand by Maulana Tariq Jamil.

Actor Hmaza Ali Abbasi wrote, “Maulana Tariq Jameel Saahib is a good man, may Allah bless him in this life and the next.”

Taking to his Twitter and Instagram accounts, TV and filmstar Imran Abbas shared a picture with Maulana Tariq Jameel and said “We love you Maulana Tariq Jameel Sahab! You don’t owe any apology or clarifications to those who misinterpreted your message. May Allah be with you.”

Khabarnaak host Ayesha Jehanzeb also voiced support for the Tableeghi Jamaat cleric in a tweet which also contained a picture of the maulana.

“Maulana sb openly apologised by taking his words back it takes a lot of courage what do you think? I support #molanaTariqJameel,” she wrote.
