Asmat Adamjee, Zahir Jaffer’s mother, released from Adiala Jail

Rawalpindi: Asmat Adamjee, the mother of Zahir Jaffer, has been released from the Adiala Jail, days after her bail was approved by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Noor Mukadam murder case.

She was granted bail by the apex court against surety bonds of Rs1 million. Her husband Zakir Jaffer still remains in judicial custody in the same case.

Zahir Jaffer is accused of raping and killing Noor Mukadam, a daughter of a former Pakistani ambassador. The murder sparked outrage in Pakistan and the court proceedings have been making headlines in the mainstream media. Zahir Jaffer was recently indicted in the murder case.
