Karachi: Thousands of women on Monday gathered in major cities in a show of strength in a deeply patriarchal Pakistan on International Women’s Day.

The gatherings were held under the banner of “Aurat Azadi March” where thousands of women from cross sections of the society took part, with right wing parties opposing the march as a “foreign funded show of vulgarity”.
