BJP leader refers to Aamir Khan as Imran Khan, says ISI behind ‘PK’ movie
India’s ruling party leader Dr Subramanian Swamy has leveled serious allegations against Bollywood star Aamir Khan after the actor met Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan in Istanbul.
Aamir Khan became top hashtag trend on Twitter after supporters of prime Minister Narendra Modi and his right wing Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called for the boycott of Khan’s movies.
They lashed out at the actor for refusing to meet Israeli rime minister during his Indian visit in the past. They said Aamir Khan met the wife of the Turkish leader who has backed Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir.
Swamy called Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan “Three musketeers” and fueled the anger of Indian nationalists by claiming that Aamir Khan ignored protocol to hold meeting with Emine Erdogan.
The lawmaker failed to call Aamir Khan by the correct name in his video message posted on YouTube and social media.
He referred to the Bollywood star as Imran Khan without realizing that he was using the name of Pakistani prime minister instead of the Indian A-list actor. The Indian politician repeatedly called Aamir Khan by the wrong name during his video message.
Subramanian then claimed that Aamir Khan desecrated Hindu gods in his film “Pk” which he made using the ISI platform. He said the film was released in Dubai first because it was made on ISI’s platform.
