Board exams cancelled in Pakistan: Saeed Ghani says Sindh to review decision

Karachi: Pakistan on Thursday announced to ease lockdown restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The government also announced to cancel all board examinations for 9th, 10th and Intermediate classes.

Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood said that students would be promoted to next classes on the basis of their previous year marks.

He said that the government has decided to keep the schools and colleges closed till July 15.

Talking on Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath show, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani supported the federal government’s decision to postpone opening of the educational institutions.

He, however, was reluctant to back the central government’s decision to cancel board examinations.

The minister said that the final decision regarding examination would be made by Sindh government within a couple of days after reviewing the situation and options available.
