Bomb blast kills 20 in Quetta

Quetta:  A bomb blast killed at least 20 people and injured many others at a fruit market in Quetta on Friday, police said.

Senior police official Mohsin Butt said eight members of  Shia Hazara community, one security official and workers from the market were among the victims of the blast .

Accoridng to the police,  blast occurred  in the Hazarganji neighbourhood of Quetta which was  packed at the time of the explosion  early in the morning.

A large number of police and paramilitary soldiers cordoned off the area following the blast as resuce officials shifted the dead and injured to nearby hospitals.

The police said they have launched investigation to ascertain the exact nature of the blast.

No terrorist group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
