Cleric who ‘instigated’ Salman Taseer murder booked in blasphemy case

Rawalpindi: A blasphemy case has been registered against a cleric who had allegedly instigated policeman Mumtaz Qadri to kill former governor Salman Taseer in 2011, said senior journalist Azaz Syed.

An FIR registered against Mufti Hanif Qureshi states that he disrespected the companions of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) during a speech earlier this month.

According to the senior Pakistani journalist, Hanif Qureshi had refused to recognize Mumtaz Qadri during the investigation into the assassination of governor Taseer almost 12 years ago.
