CNN anchor Bianna feels depressed after interviewing Pakistani FM

Washington: Supporters of former US president Donald Trump were on same page with Pakistanis on Thursday when thousands of Pakistanis and users from other Muslim countries called out a CNN anchor for dubbing Pakistani Foreign Minister’s remarks against Israel as anti-Semitic.

Bianna Golodryga was interviewing Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the situation In Palestine and Israel when the diplomat said Israel has “deep pockets” and “controls media”.

While most of the media colleagues in the US voiced support for Bianna, thousands of social media users criticized her for “defending Israel”. The anchor was visibly disturbed over the kind of response she received on her interview with the Pakistani foreign minister.

Hours after the interview the CNN anchor wrote on Twitter, “I can’t believe I have to say this, but there should be zero point zero doubt that accusing Israel of “controlling the media” and having “deep pockets” is anti-Semitic. This website can be both constructive and depressing. My Twitter feed is currently the latter.”

She also posted a screenshot of her tweet on her Instagram. A look at her replies showed that hundreds of Trump supporters enjoyed watching CNN anchor being “trolled” online. Trump is highly critical of CNN and during his term as the US president used to publicly call out the TV network for criticizing him.
