CNN anchor Bianna Golodryga called Islamophobe after Pakistan FM interview

Bianna Golodryga, the CNN anchor, who objected to Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s remarks about Israeli’s influence on US media, has been called Islamophobe by some Pakistanis and social media users in several other Muslim countries.

Bianna, CNN Senior Global Affairs Analyst, called the minister’s remarks anti-Semitic, sparking outrage in Pakistan and other Muslim countries.

Commenting on CNN’s claim, a Pakistani liberal activist commented, “Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s suggestions that Israel controls media narrative in US is not anti-Semitic. Noam Chomsky & a host of American intellectuals have repeatedly exposed media bias against Palestinians. Such blackmail should not distract from US complicity in Israeli war crimes.”

Pakistan’s top female anchor Fereeha Idrees said she would choose to call the CNN anchor Islamophobic. “Anyone else wants to call anyone, anything,” she wrote on Twitter.

Shortly after Qureshi’s interview, hashtag #ForeignMinister started trending on Twitter, with thousands of people condemning the CNN anchor’s remarks.
