COAS Bajwa assures retired army officers of Imran Khan’s victory in next elections?

Lahore: Major (retd) Adil Raja, who represents Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society, has claimed Army Chief General Bajwa told senior retired military officials that Pakistan is heading to next election.

According to Raja, Bajwa said the next election would be free and fair and it seems that Imran Khan will become prime minister again.

The army chief, according to Raja, said the army would accept Imran Khan with an open heart as prime minister of Pakistan.

When Adil Raja’s claim about Bajwa’s remarks were questioned on social media, he said he stands by his statement.

Major Adil Raja’s claim could not be independently confirmed.

Senior journalist Salman Masood also shared his views about Gen Bajwa’s address:

A lot of exaggerated and slanted accounts of Gen Bajwa’s meeting with the veterans in Lahore. In response to one question in the Q and A session, he talked about a possible future (political) scenario but did not endorse anyone per se.
