Darul Uloom Karachi denies issuing Fatwa against ‘Ertugrul’

Karachi: Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi has denied issuing any Fatwa against popular Turkish drama series “Dirilis:Ertugrul” or “Ertugrul Ghazi”.

According to a statement issued by the seminary, the Fatwa (decree) being attributed to Darul Uloom was not issued by its Darul Afta.

The statement came a day after Samaa and several other publications reported that Darul Uloom Karachi, Korangi has issued a Fatwa against the drama series which has a become a household name in Pakistan.

“Dirilis:Ertugrul” is being aired on state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
