Did China send undergarment masks to Pakistan? Fact-check

China promised to send top quality N-95 masks to Pakistan. When the consignment landed, Pakistanis found that China had sent masks made of underwear, read a tweet sent out by a retired Indian military officer.

Major (retd) Gaurav Arya, who is well known for his anti-Pakistan views, also shared a video clip of a “Pakistani news channel” that broke the news.

The report claimed that China sent masks made of undergarments and it only came to notice when they were dispatched to a hospital in Orangi Town’s Qatar Hosital, a government-run medical facility.

Following discussion with multiple officials on the matter and it turned out that MBTV, which reported the news, is a not a mainstream broadcaster which run the footage without caring to approach authorities to seek their comments on the matter.

While rejecting the report as fake, the officials said that it was still not confirm that the footage was made at the hospital.
