Fact-check: Imran Khan not put on ECL
Islamabad: Several TV channels on Thursday reported that the government has placed Imran Khan’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL).
The reports turned out to be incorrect as the government said it has not put the former prime minister on ECL, which bars people from flying out of Pakistan.
ARY Bureau Chief in Islamabad, Khawar Ghumman, confirmed that no such decision was made by the government.
Geo News correspondent Waqar Satti also reported that neither Imran Khan nor any other leader of the PTI was put on the ECL.
He said that the federal cabinet has given no such approval.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan said that would thank the government of his name is placed on the ECL.
