Firdous Ashiq slaps Qadir Mandokhel, calls for release of full video of the fight
Islamabad: A video of Firdous Ashiq Awan, Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, slapping a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA took the internet by storm on Wednesday night.
The incident took place during the recording of a talkshow hosted by anchor Javed Chaudhry. The video shows a heated argument between Awan and Mandokhel, who recently won a by-election in Karachi on PPP’s ticket.
Both the politicians levelled allegations of corruption against each other before Firdous Ashiq Awan lost her cool and slapped the MNA. The former information minister was also heard uttering expletives after hitting Mandokhel who tried to hold her hands to ward off further blows.
Javed Chaudhry is being criticized for acting as a silent spectator during the fight. Some users circulated memes targeting Chaudhry after the video of the fight before the camera surfaced online.
Reacting to the video, Firdous shiq Awan demanded the private TV channel release full video of the incident which would show why she slapped Qadir Mandokhel.
The advisor to Osman Buzdar said that the PPP MNA used derogatory words for her father.
