Gates Foundation hacked? Fact-check

Social media is abuzz with rumors that Gates Foundations has been hacked.

The rumors apparently started doing the rounds on social media after email addresses and passwords of members of the Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control And Prevention and virology center based in China emerged within a network of neo-Nazi extremists.

According to a report in vice.com, the hacking seemed to be an attempt at intimidating government and NGO’s leading the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

The report stated that the email address and passwords are outdated and part of a previous data breach.
