Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa’s resignation rejected

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan refused to accept the resignation presented to him by his Special Assistant Lt. Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa.

The development came a day after Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa issued a strong rebuttal to claims made in a news story by journalist Ahmed Noorani.

The CPEC Authority chairman, who also serves as Prime Minister Special Assistance, first issued a four-page clarification to respond to allegations levelled against him and then appear on multiple TV channels to explain his position.

The former DG ISPR announced to quit his position as PM’s Special Assistant and said he would continue to oversee the CPEC.
