Gilgit’s Shia, Sunni clerics cancel challenge to jump into raging fire

Gilgit: Two clerics belonging to Shia and Sunni school of thoughts have decided to cancel the challenge of jumping into fire to prove which sect of Islam is on the right path.
After intervention of the regional peace committee and local administration, both the religious scholars have issued letters to announce that they are taking back their previous statements and cancelling the “Manazra and Mubahila” to maintain religious harmony.
Agha Syed Rahat Hussain Al-Hussaini of Central Imamia Council Gilgit and Qazi Nisar Ahmed of Tanzeem Ahle Sunnat Waljamaat have apologized to each other in letters issued on May 20.
