Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh addresses rally in Pakistan through video link

Karachi: Ismail Haniyeh, a senior political leader of Hamas and former prime minister of Palestinian National Authority, on Sunday addressed the participants of a mammoth rally in Pakistan via video link.

The “Million March” rally was taken out by Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami in Karachi, home to 20 million people and commercial hub of the nuclear nation, to show solidarity with the people of Palestine.

The Palestinian leader thanked the people of Pakistan for their support to Hamas and Palestinians against Israeli aggression which killed more than two hundred people including children in recent attacks on Gaza.

The clashes between Hamas and Israeli forces came to an end after Egypt brokered a ceasefire deal between the two.

After his address to the rally in Karachi, Haniyeh took to Twitter to once again extend his gratitude to the “Pakistan people”.

Thousands of people including women and children holding Palestinian flags marched on the streets of Karachi to show their support to Muslims of Palestine while demanding the liberation of the occupied lands.
