Hanif Abbasi’s sentence suspended

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday suspend conviction of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Hanif Abbasi and granted him bail months after he was jailed for life in Ephedrine Case.

The decision was given by a division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Aalia Neelum which ruled that the Anti-Narcotics Court overlooked key legal points during the trial of Hanif Abbasi.

The decision comes just a days after the LHC provided relief to PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif while ordering the government to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
