Fans who were left devastated by the former couple’s decision said 2023 is a cursed year.
“It’s like curse alternating between couples,” said one fan on social media.
Some people reminsced about 2009 which saw multiple people dying. “South Park” also made an entire episode about 2009 being a “cursed year”.
A lot of famous deaths and divorces also took place in 2016.
A social media user noted , “It’s interesting that there’s a nine years difference between 2009-2016 and 2016-2023.
“It means every seven years we will have a year with an overwhelming amount of celebrity deaths and breakups, said another fan.
People with interest in astrology blamed Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee’s split on the alignment of planets.
One such user said, “Mercury retrograde just ended today. We had intense last few weeks due to seven planets being retrograde. Venus retrograde was especially hard.”
Another said,”It’s six planets in retrograde.” But one user argued, “Mercury is direct today. One down.”
An expert explained, “When planets go retrograde it’s a period of deep reflection and introspection and basically like a crossroads. You can continue to make the same choices and weave the same patterns or you can sit back and evaluate and choose to do differently. Venus in retrograde in particular is a make it or break it period for relationships in general but especially romantic ones. That coupled with Pluto and Saturn in retrograde (the planets of death/deep seeded wisdom and renewal/liberation), creates a paradox/conflict of interests. It creates the question “What do I value?” Collaboration or individuation? Interdependence or independence? It creates a situation where you have to choose to commit to one or the other. It also makes you evaluate if partnerships, friendships, communities, environments really add value to your life or not.”
