India targeting civilians with cluster munition along LoC: Pak Army
Rawalpindi: Indian Army is targeting civilian population with cluster ammunition along Line of Control (LoC) in clear violation of Geneva Convention and international humanitarian law, said the ISPR on Saturday.
A statement issued by the ISPR said, Indian Army on night between July 30 and July 31 targeted innocent citizens including women and children in Neelum Valley through Artillery using cluster ammunition.
“Two civilians including a 4 year boy embraced shahadat while 11 others got critically injured,” the army said.
According to the ISPR, eecause of severe impact on non combatants, use of cluster ammunition is prohibited under Convention on Cluster Ammunition.
Indian allegations rejected
Meanwhile, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has rejected Indian allegations of cross Line of Control (LoC) action by Pakistan and said, “Indian allegations of cross LoC action by Pakistan and possession of bodies are mere propaganda.”
“Such blatant lies / staged dramas are Indian disinformation manoeuvre to divert world’s attention from increased atrocities by Indian occupational forces inside Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K),” he said on Twitter.
