Is Kim Jong-un dead?

“Kim Jong-Un Dead” was the top trending topic on Twitter in many countries after rumors swirled about the North Korean leader’s health.

Twitter users sent thousands of tweets with hashtag #KimJongUnDead while sharing reports regarding the dictator’s health. Social media was also flooded with memes about the North Korean leader.

 A report last week by US intelligence agencies suggested that Kim might be in grave danger after he failed to appear at a celebration honoring his late grandfather Kim Il-sung, the founder of the country.

As one of the most important holidays in North Korea, Kim Jong-un’s absence from the celebration was quickly speculated as signaling the leaders’ potential demise.

A South Korean website reported that Kim Jon-un had recently undergone heart surgery, many assumed the leader was either recovering or in grave condition.
