JUI-F statement defending Mufti Azizur Rehman is fake

Islamabad: A Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI) statement defending Mufti Azizur Rehman has been doing the rounds on social media, with people criticizing Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s party.

The statement being circulated on social media websites is fake and has not been issued by the JUI-F. The screenshot of the statement which has been shared by hundreds of people online shows that it was posted from a verified Facebook account while the fact is that this account doesn’t exist on the social networking website.

Critics of the religious party are using the statement to claim that it stands by Mufti Azizur Rehman who was caught on camera while sodomizing one of his students at Lahore’s Jamia Manzurl Islam.
