Karachi: Gunmen kidnap girl, shoot and injure male friend in Defence

Karachi: Unknown gunmen shot and injured a man while kidnapping his female friend from Karachi’s Defence area on late Saturday night, police said.

The incident, according to the police, took place in Bukhari Commercial area ‘s main street in which a man identified as Haris Soomro was shot in the neck as he offered resistance to gunmen during abduction of his friend identified as Dua Mangi.

The injured was shifted to a hospital where he is said to be in critical condition.

The police said four kidnappers riding a car intercepted the pair who were walking near Master Tea.

SSP South Shiraz Nazir along with SSP Investigation arrived on the crime scene where statements of eyewitnesses were recorded.

The police said they were trying to obtain the CCTV footage from the area to identify the kidnappers.

Sindh Police IG Syed Kaleem Imam while taking notice of the incident has sought a report while instructing his force to arrest the gunmen involved in the kidnapping of the girl.
