Modi’s supporters cheer for Israel as Netanyahu declares war on Gaza
A majority of people who replied to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement on X, formerly known as Twitter belonged to India on Monday.
The Indian users who cheered for Israel as it launched aerial raids on Gaza were right wing Hindus who support Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his video statement shared with a long caption, Netanyahu vowed to retaliate to Hamas after the Palestinian militant group launched deadly attack on Saturday, killing hundreds of Israelies and abducting many others.
While Indian government has issued a carefully crafted statement on the situation, extremist elements called on the Israeli prime minister to exterminate his enemies.
