Oil not discovered in Islamabad: HDIP
Islamabad:The Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) has dismissed the notion that oil has been discovered in Islamabad after videos of a liquid coming out of the ground were circulated on social media.
HDIP, a government organization which tests the quality of oil products, gave its opinion after taking samples of combustible liquid reportedly discovered in Islamabad’s Sector H-13 for testing.
A report issued by the HDIP said “From the results, it doesn’t seems Crude Oil as there is no lighter components at all.”
It said, “It seems that diesel leaked from some nearby storage facility over years, however review may be taken from exploration companies like OGDCL and PPL for evaluation of the area for occurrence of crude.”
