‘Pakistan Digital Media Wing members appointed in gross violation of rules’

Islamabad: The Auditor General of Pakistan has found appointments in Pakistan Digital Media Wing in violation of rules. According to a report, the head and members of the Digital Media Wing were appointed in gross violations of rules.

When Mubashir Zaidi, a journalist associated with Dawn TV highlighted the issue on Twitter, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s assistant Dr Shahbaz Gill denied any wrongdoings in the appointments.

Sharing pictures of two pages of the report, Zaidi wrote, “These are the head & members of @PakistanDMW who were appointed in gross violation of rules. PM @ImranKhanPTI gave them waiver to accommodate these @PTIofficial workers. A sham advert was given in which thousands applied but jobs were already reserved for the cronies.”

Shehbaz Gill accused Zaidi of spreading lies and said all the people were hired on merit after publication of advertisement in newspapers without any discrimination under 2017 hiring policy.

Mubashir Zaid asked Gull to “Please tell this to Auditor General of Pakistan who has reported this anomaly.
