PEMRA DG Haji Adam dismissed by Kashmala Tariq

Islamabad: Federal Ombudsman for protection against Harassment of Women Thursday terminated Haji Adam, the former Director General of PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority).

A fine of Rs2 million has also been imposed on him for harassing a female worker of the electronic media watchdog..

According to The News, PEMRA’s General Manager Fakhruddin, the co-accused in the case, was demoted and fined 0.5 million.

The decision was taken by Kashmala Tariq who also ordered PEMRA authorities to install CCTV cameras in the office’s premises to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Haji Adam’s appeal against the Federal Ombudsperson was rejected by the Islamabad High Court.
