PEMRA issues notice to ARY over fake news about Asad Majeed

Islamabad: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Friday issued a show-cause notice to ARY for airing fake news about the meeting of National Security Committee (NSC).

The PEMRA said the private broadcaster aired incorrect news about former Pakistan ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed who was summoned to the meeting to present his views on the alleged foreign conspiracy that Imran Khan said removed him from office.

ARY had reported that Asad Majeed stood by his stance that the United States hatched a conspiracy against the former prime minister.
