PM Imran telephones Sami Ibrahim after Fawad slaps anchor

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday talked to Sami Ibrahim via telephone and expressed sorrow over the incident which saw the anchor got slapped by his cabinet member Fawad Chaudhry.

The prime minister told him Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf does not encourage such individual acts which intentionally or un-intentionally undermine someone’s self-esteem and hurt ones feelings.

Fawad Chaudhry had slapped Sami Ibrahim at a wedding ceremony in Faisalabad after the anchor accused the minister of being part of a conspiracy against Imran Khan.

Imran Khan said government and media are two integral parts of democratic process.

He said the difference in opinion should not be taken to the level of personal difference.
