Police constable kills man with cleaver over blasphemy in South Punjab

Multan: A police constable allegedly killed a man who was freed from jail after spending three years on the charges of blasphemy in Sadiqabad city of South Punjab.

It has been learned that police constable H.A Qadir deputed in Rahim Yar Khan killed Waqas with a meat cleaver at Roshan Bheet area located near Multan and Muzaffargarh cities in South Punjab.

The suspect has reportedly been arrested and a case has been registered against him.

Insulting Islam’s Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) or desecrating places of worship carries a mandatory death penalty or life in prison in Pakistan, that has the harshest blasphemy laws in the world.
