PTI braces for crackdown after army’s warning over protests
Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is bracing for a crackdown after the Pakistan Army issued a strong statement against the party.
The army blamed the party leadership for an attack on the Lahore Corps Commander House and warned that it would react to violent protests.
The army said the rioters belonging to the PTI have been identified and action would be taken against them.
The PTI is also expected to face action after a couple of audios of its leaders talking about the violent protests against the army got leaked.
One of the audios involved PTI leader Yasim Rashid and a former ISI officer, who is now part of the Imran Khan’s party.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested PTI vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Ali Zaidi, Asad Umar, Usman Dar and Umer Sarfaraz Cheema.
Fawad Chaudhry said he could also be arrested.
There is no truth in certain rumors being spread about CJCSC.
The JCSC was scheduled to address a security conference in Islamabad Wednesday afternoon, according to an official itinerary.
