PTI Jail Bharo Tehreek:There’s something Imran Khan can’t do

Islamabad: Multiple PTI leaders on Wednesday managed to avoid arrests after posing for pictures with prisons vans as part of the party’s Jail Bharo Tehreek (Fill the jail movement).

Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi looked shattered when he surrendered to police and instead of being brought to the CCPO office he was detained for 30 days under Punjab Maintenance of Public Order in Lahore’s Central jail.

Similarly, Former MPA Fazal Elahi ran away after taking pictures with a police van in Khyber Paktunkhwan.

Former Khyber Paktunkhwan governor and PTI leader Shah Farman was seen requesting SP Abdus Salam Khalid not to arrest him because he was not well.

The Pashto language conversation between Farman and the police officer was translated by Pashtoon politician Samar Haroon Bilour.

Assad Qaiser and Pervez Khattak left for their homes after addressing a press conference instead of forcing themselves into jails.

Former Finance Minister Assad Umar was sent to a jail in South Punjab after he entered a police van in Lahore.

Several young PTI workers expressed concerns that an FIR against them could destroy their future efforts to settle abroad or join services which require clean record.

Meanwhile, senior PTI leaders have approached the court through their lawyers to secure their release from detention.
