PTI workers question Pervez Elahi, Imran Riaz and leaders’ loyalty as they resist Imran Khan’s arrest
Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers on social media expressed anger at anchor and YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan for his tweets as police and Rangers surrounded Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence to arrest him.
Imran Riaz was criticized for creating the impression through his tweets that the government tried to pit people against the police and forces.
Majority of PTI workers believe that the action against Imran Khan was initiated by the powerful establishment and Imran Riaz was trying to remain in the good books of the powerful circles.
Former ARY anchor Sabir Shakira was also accused of being soft on the establishment as he tweeted from exile and refrained from targeting the establishment.
The absence of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, who was recently appointed the PTI president, and other senior leaders of the party from Zaman Park was also noticed by Imran Khan’s supporters.
The workers questioned the leaders’ loyalty with Imran Khan and asked why they were left at the mercy of the forces.
