Rawalpindi: Robber arrested for snatching school teacher’s purse

Rawalpindi: The police have arrested the suspect who was seen robbing a woman of her purse in the broad daylight hours after the video of the incident went viral on the internet.

The suspect has been identified as Anees Iqbal, who shot himself while trying to resist his arrest.

The video of the robber snatching the purse of a woman, a school teacher who was on her way to her duty, sparked outrage in Pakistan.

The video showed the woman falling to the ground as the suspect riding a motorbike pulled her purse. Punjab IG Police Inam Ghani lauded his department for arresting the criminal. He ordered the police to ensure that the suspect is punished for his crime.
