Rehman Bajwa: Govt employees demand leader’s release after Islamabad protest

Islamabad: Rehman Bajwa, a firebrand leader of a government employees alliance, was arrested along with his comrades after protest in Islamabad.

Thousands of employees had gathered near the capital’s D-Chowk to demand an increase in their salaries and pensions.

Rehman Bajwa had delivered some fiery speeches to unite the government employees from all the provinces and the capital before the protesters marched on Islamabad.

After a day of violent protests, Rehman Bajwa was taken into custody along with some other leaders of the All Pakistan Government Employees Grand Alliance.

Shortly after his arrest, others leaders of the alliance had condemned the government’s move and demanded his immediate release.
