Reports of sexual assault on Khadija Shah in custody are fake
Lahore: Social media accounts loyal to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are claiming that fashion designer Khadija Shah has been raped during custody.
The Elan founder was arrested for her alleged role in the vandalism of Corps Commander House in Lahore, an allegation she denies.
The propaganda of sexual assault on the granddaghter of former army chief late General Asif Nawaz Janjua and daughter of former minister Salman Shah started after Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah’s late night press conference on Sunday.
Rana Sanaullah said an audio conversation has been tapped which suggests that the PTI would accused the government authorities of allowing sexual abuse of a female worker.
Meanwhile, several social media posts including videos on TikTok have created the impression that Khadija Shah has been sexually assaulted during custody.
A Twitter account dedicated to updates on Shah’s arrest has not made any such allegation. It, however, said that the family of the fashion designer has not been granted the right to visitation.
Moreover, the video of Khadija Shah seeking apology was actually recorded before her arrest.
