Salafi scholar Sheikh Ziaur Rehman shot dead in Karachi

Karachi: A leading Salafi scholar Sheikh Ziaur Rehman Madni, head of the Jamia Abi Bakar Islamia was shot dead on Tuesday.

According to police, the incident took place in Gulistan-e- Johar area of the city.

“This looks like a target killing, we’ve collected bullets of a 9mm pistol been used in the attack, however investigation is underway,” said the police.

The body of the deceased was moved to a hospital for medicolegal formalities.
